Message from the PENSA president

To our PENSA family and friends

Thank You and Final Message

PENSA 2017 has finally finished its course and it was a blast! We all had a great time and it was fulfilling in terms of reaching its goals and expectations. (If you don't believe me, look at the PENSA 2017 Videos). The knowledge and friendships we gained from each other was huge. Over-all I think we were able to deliver what was promised and more.

So I would like to congratulate the organizing committee specially Liza Francisco and Olive Quizon (the real “presidents”) for doing a tremendous job and a very successful one at that. Of course our unending thanks to the board of PhilSPEN, the different committees and heads, and the “unnamed and unseen” staff - I can only say this, "You are all unbelievable - where did you get all that energy?"

To our sponsors who gave sacrificially and generously to make this congress a success, our undying gratitude. If we could sing our thanks though this page you would have heard it already.

To our distinguished speakers and moderators specially those who came from far away to be a part of this event (Europe, USA, Australia, Mexico, Brazil and the whole Asia-Pacific region) – we have nothing more to say except “Maraming Salamat Po” (Thank you so much!) and “Mabuhay!” (May you have a great life!). You will be forever in our hearts.

And to all our our participants – thank you for finding time to attend this congress and being involved. Without you this congress would be nothing. May God bless you always for what you did especially on your investment in time, effort and resources.

If ever you experienced some inconveniences along the way our sincere apologies, we are not perfect and sometimes our human nature pops up once in a while.

So once again our deepest thanks and appreciation to everyone for everything.

To the KSPEN board and brothers and sisters from Korea - the next host of PENSA 2018 - we hope and pray for a very successful congress in June 13-16, 2018 in Seoul, Korea!

All of these would not have been possible without the grace of God and the Lord Jesus Christ from whom all good things flow. To Him be all the glory and praise! Amen.

From: Doc Luisito “Louie” Llido, the whole PENSA 2017 congress team and the PhilSPEN family.

Note: The videos and presentations will be posted in this site as soon as they are available and eventually in the PhilSPEN online journal where we will create a page dedicated for this event. Please stay “tuned”. This www.pensa-2017.com page will expire on February 14, 2018.

Message 1

Greetings!

After a decade the Philippine Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (PhilSPEN) has the privilege of hosting the 18th Congress of the Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition Society of Asia (PENSA) this November 19 -21, 2017 in Manila. This year’s theme is “Expanding Horizons in Clinical Nutrition” and we have prepared topics that are not only clinically relevant globally, but also unique in this part of the world – Asia.

In this congress we are hoping to meet old friends and gain new ones, and not only that – to learn from each other’s expertise in the various areas of clinical nutrition. A lot has happened in this field for the past three decades, changes in thought and deed, so much so that we hope to see in this congress the opportunity to discuss issues and meet eye to eye on controversial concerns. This is life – so much to learn and unlearn. We have no choice – our world is getting smaller, but our borders are getting more indistinct not just in our field in clinical nutrition but also in the basic sciences as well. Truly our horizons are continually expanding.

So with this whole scenario before us we are looking forward to see you here in Manila this November 19-21, 2017 at the EDSA Shangri-La Manila hotel. Not everything is serious, however, life is short - enjoy it. We are eager to offer you our brand of Filipino hospitality from the bright smiles, great food to the beautiful beaches and sights which only a tropical paradise can offer. As our friends would always say, “it is more fun in the Philippines” -  Mabuhay!
